Enrolling Coverage

Image
Now let's set aside the fun times and get into the serious adulting business for a minute! One thing that as we are growing up that never gets talked about other than being told we need to have/do is  financial planning and insurance coverage !  My husband and I have really tried over the years to gain as much knowledge as we can so that the next generation (our littles) will be better off than we were.  As we head into October, we are not only heading into big time for health insurance we are also leading into the holidays which can be a big spending time.  For the financials side of things make sure you and your partner are on the same page and that you always remember that time spent is always goes further than money spent!   On the other side for those individuals who are needing to explore health options ahead of open enrollment there is a whole field of dedicated  health advisors that are available to walk you through the plans out ...

Fall Swing into Pre-Holidays

Things have been a bit crazy juggling back to school , fall sports, and work.  I think we finally have settled into a scheduled routine that works for the whole family!  Like we all know the world doesn't pause for us to catch our breaths or get back on top of everything it simply keeps rolling and it's our jobs to catch back up.  This past week we had parent teacher conferences for my little and she is growing and taking this school year in stride, you can see all that she is learning simply by watching her carry herself through a variety of things.  One thing that I love to see is how she comes home from school and shows her little brother what she learned at school, and he loves it! There are many great resources that virtual through websites and even  apps  the games and the achievement-based lessons keep the littles engaged in the learning tools.  The other thing that we really love for learning in our family is little field trips/ outings that ha...

Fall (ing in Love with) Gardening

Image
Fall time not only means a return to school for our littles but a preparation for fall gardens . Now I don't know about you, but my childhood was full of memories of time spent outside working and playing in the garden to see our rewards at harvest.  This year in particular my littles have really shown a love for working the garden and seeing the fruits of their labor. Not only do they get to see the result of their work they also have been learning about what plants need to be grow and all the insects or bugs that help or hurt the plants growths.  My daughter loves seeing the bugs working about the garden doing their part to make the garden successful.  We've started talking about things that would encourage or attract beneficial insects to our garden.  One thing that we have seen that she really liked was giving them a home or aka  insect hotel .  SO.....now we are in the process of finding the  insect hotel  that will accommodate our bug friend...

Back to School Year 2.0

Image
I can hardly believe it guys! We have a first grader in our family this year and she is absolutely obsessed with arts and crafts. Right now, crayons and I are besties.... or maybe frenemies! I say that because my 3-year-old loves giving himself a cute "mommy heart" tattoo or make a beautifully ill-placed moral in my living room. Here's the mommy must haves that we have found are the absolute best in our household for back to school. 1.  Crayons 2. Markers 3. Notebooks 4.  Planners 5. Whiteboard Schedules 6.  Organization Here's to another school year of our littles growing and flourishing into the little beings that they are meant to be! While we keep the ship tight, our sanity intact and the environment nurturing.
